I may not be looking hard enough, but that thread is only about matching APSA OLR Weights up with Ducks RvsW weights, not bring over all ducks rules?
I’m very Interested in this one also, as I want to keep my new car MSB legal but hope to be able to build it to SFI 25.3 spec with regards to the cage in the cockpit area, but to do this it would be much easier on my car to fit new sheet metal to the floor and make it all flat. I am happy to keep the factory tunnel and weld the new floor in, it just won’t follow the factory profile.
It’s giving me time to finish building my new car.
Blokes have been 155mph on a 4450lb Chev a truck (brick) with a single 80mm a borg Warner on a mild 383 23 degree Chev.
Anything running sub 9’s will be competitive on the day without a doubt. I have no doubt a mid 9 sec car if consistent could snag a win.
Even at 4000lb (1800kg) you should be able to go sub 8.50 with a good single 80mm.
How heavy is your car?
Plenty of singles making closer to 1400hp, even at the current weights a 80mm turbo combo in a well setup car will smash past the 8.50 index
My VK was 3320 lbs as raced with me in it back in May 2013 at Sydney.
Too much emphasis put on weights specially on the non NA Combos, the index is the levelling factor at the moment. If the index was lowered or removed weights may need to be looked at more then. I have no doubt the rules currently could allow 7 sec passes if there was no index.
Looks the goods, anything to make the racing closer is a good move. Now to work out how to be some weight out of my new combo to get closer to min weight.
A single 80mm can run well below 8.0’s at 3200lb, no need for a 91mm.
Just entered, now better go finish the car.
When do entries close?
Test and tune Friday would be great.
Renewed and ready for another year of great Shootouts. Better get out in the shed and bolt the car back together.
